Mangal Yaan is also known as MOM that means Mars Orbiter Mission. This is the first Indian venture into the interplanetary space. The aim of MOM is to explore and observe the surface features of planet Mars. It will also explore the morphology, minerology and the atmosphere of Mars.
The search of methane gas has to be done to find out the possibility or past existence of life on Mars. This might be helpful to settle the human beings on Mars in near future.
The main challenge of this mission was the enormous distance between the two planets. Thus to design and develop such an orbiter that can fufill the dreams of the millions of Indians. We must have those technologies that can overcome all these challaenges.
After leaving Earth, the MOM will have to endure the huge distance of the space between the two planets for about 300 days before entering the orbit of Mars.
But the ISRO scientists have worked hard to complete the project. The project was much cheaper than the projects done by the NASA.
Without going to the technical details of the MOM project it is time for all Indians to celebrate any pray for the success of MOM. This launch has attracted all the nations of the country and they all have praised India for the same.
Needless to say the timely launch of the Mangalyaan was not an easy task. To achieve the targets of all concerned departments, all the teams worked swiftly and accurately.
We all should feel proud of our scientists who has created history. Thanks ISRO!
