You are reading this post – The Great Motivational Talk. This talk is between two friends. It was a very sad day for me. I got a negative feedback about my behavior with others and about my attitude. So, I was very unhappy when we heard about me from one of my colleagues. I was in a negative frame of mind and I started to think about quitting my job.
Varun, one of my best friends came to my house on a normal visit. I talked about my current mental situation and also told him that I am going to quit the job. He is also working in the same field in which I do. But he is a good listener. He listened to me carefully.
Varun stated me a quote of Helen Keller that when one door of happiness closes another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us. I said, “ it is true but Varun how can you work on a place where your head has a negative perception about you?” See no one is going to change for you. The best thing is that you should talk with your head about the current thing happening with you.

If you find any negative thing from his side, then you can think for a change. See everywhere you will find this type of person whose work is to create this type of negative environment around you. Varun used a word – mental pollution for this. It is true if you face a negative person negative energy will flow towards you. He gave me many examples how negative people complicate his own life and also do the same with others. You won’t believe, he talked with me about an hour and he mind-washed my all negativity. His words were really motivational.
He told me to follow the path of optimism. Optimism is just like a happiness magnet, if you will stay positive, good people will be come to you. This leads towards happiness at your work, happiness at your house, happiness in your family. You will become the happiest person. He also told me to do an activity. Sit quietly and think that you are the most calm and positive person in the world. The present situation will change.
Breathe deeply. Exhale thinking that all the negative thoughts are going out. Inhale thinking that all the good virtues are entering your body. It is a well known meditation exercise. When he left my house, I was fully motivated. Next day I arrive my office. I went to my Head when he was alone and told him everything about myself.
What I heard about myself from others. He is a nice guy. So, he laughed at me. He told me not to think about these silly things. Other thing, he appreciated me and my work, and called me an asset for the company. I am thankful to Varun for his nice advice. He is really a true friend of mine. I have much regard for him. I never forget his motivational words which prohibited me to take a wrong decision.
